This is a plea to you all.  You all know me, some of you more so then others.  I just want to talk a little bit though about where I’ve come from and what I believe in. 

I was raised up in the bible belt, living from 1st-3rd grade in Ashville, NC and then 3-4th in San Antonio, Texas and finally the rest of my life before I was an adult was lived in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, a suburb called Hurst.  You what they always said, Euless was useless, but Hurst is first. :)  Anyways growing up as I did, I have always been led in the ways of conservatism.  My mother and father were Republicans thru and thru.  I must say that there were some great years for the rebulicans when I was growing up.  Particularly the Reagan years.   

Upon reaching voting age, I joined the United States Marine Corps and was with them for a good 10 years through which I was always voting Republican.  The military typically all votes that way from what I experienced since mostly they just want the better yearly raises that the Republican’s seemed to dole out. 

After getting out of the Marine Corps, I’ve been still steadfast in my belief that the Republicans still knew the proper way things were going.  I believed in George Bush, enough so even that I voted a second time for him and persuaded everyone I knew to vote for him.  Really I did not know much about things I just knew that the democrats were a bunch of hippies that hated the military and Bush would take care of our military.

Since about 2006 though I took some government classes, some political science classes, and have truly started to seek answers for myself.  I must say that I am truly disgusted by the Republican party at this moment in time.  Today the republican party is led by those who just seek to empower and enable the multi-billion dollar corporations to make more while paying less taxes.  It just boggles my mind.  I cannot believe that a company making 11 billion dollars in three months pays less of a percentage of their profits in taxes then I do in a paycheck?  WTF?  Thats, What The Fuck for those of you unfamiliar.  It truly is sickening.

Now that brings me to what my mother and some of my relatives will have a hard time with.  I want you all to look beyond party lines, I want you all to look past this mans skin color, this mans evil sounding name.  I want you all to quit reading those fruity nut-job ultra-conservative magazines and simply listen to this mans speech.  Listen to his words.  Give this man a chance to change your mind so perhaps our country can become led the way that it was meant to be led.  By the people thru their voice in votes rather then thru these multi billion dollar companies.  Follow the campaigns and make a choice that is yours.  But read and listen to both sides of the story please…

I know you will have a hard time doing this, but just listen to Barack’s acceptance speech in full.  Pay attention to his words not his color or name.  Just do it for me, your friend, your son.
